# Managing Products, Characters, Styles, and Environments

> Upload and organize your products, characters, and environments — then reuse them across every workflow you build in Rainfrog.

The **Assets** group in the sidebar is where you build your creative library. Upload products, define characters, and set environments once — then pull any of them into any workflow without re-uploading. Styles are chosen on the **Style** node inside the studio (built-in and custom), not from a separate Styles page in Assets.

<Info>
  Products, characters, and environments are shared across all your projects. Update an asset once and every workflow that references it can use the updated version on the next generation.
</Info>

## Products

A product is a physical item you want to feature — a garment, packshot, bag, or any product photo. Upload it under **Assets → Products**.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Products">
    In the sidebar, expand **Assets** and select **Products**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Upload a product image">
    Click **+** (or the upload control) and choose an image from your device. JPG and PNG work best.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Name and organize">
    Give the product a clear name. Use folders when you want to group products by collection or season.
  </Step>
</Steps>

**Best practices for product photos:**

* Use a **clean, simple background** — white or light grey works best
* Ensure **good, even lighting** with no harsh shadows obscuring the product
* Make sure the **full product is visible** and not cropped at the edges
* Avoid busy compositions — clear product photos produce more faithful results

**Product limits by plan:**

| Plan  | Product limit |
| ----- | ------------- |
| Hobby | 25 products   |
| Pro   | 100 products  |
| Ultra | Unlimited     |

## Characters

A character is the person who appears in your campaign imagery. Use stock characters from Rainfrog's library or upload your own reference under **Assets → Characters**.

**Using the stock library:**
Browse and select a character from the Character node in the studio — no upload required.

**Uploading a custom character:**

<Steps>
  <Step title="Go to Characters">
    Open **Assets → Characters**, then click **+** to add a new reference.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Upload a reference image">
    Choose a clear headshot or portrait. Good lighting and a fully visible face work best.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Name the character">
    Give the character a name so you can find it quickly when building graphs. Organize with folders as your library grows.
  </Step>
</Steps>

**Tips for character uploads:**

* Use a **front-facing portrait** with the face clearly lit
* Avoid sunglasses, hats, or anything that obscures facial features
* A **neutral expression** produces the most flexible outputs
* Higher-resolution images yield better consistency

**Character limits by plan:**

| Plan  | Character limit |
| ----- | --------------- |
| Hobby | 10 characters   |
| Pro   | 40 characters   |
| Ultra | Unlimited       |

## Styles

Styles live on the **Style** node in the studio — there is no separate Styles page under Assets.

* **Built-in styles** — browse and select from the Style node panel
* **Custom styles** — create a style from reference images that represent your brand look (color, lighting, mood)

Once selected on a Style node, that treatment applies to generators connected to it.

## Environments

An environment defines the setting and background. Open **Assets → Environments** for your customs, or pick built-in environments from the Environment node in the studio.

**Uploading a custom environment:**

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Environments">
    Select **Assets → Environments**, then click **+**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Upload a reference image">
    Choose a location photo, interior, or scene you want Rainfrog to use as context.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Name and save">
    Name it clearly (for example, "Tokyo Street — Night") so it is easy to find on the canvas.
  </Step>
</Steps>

**Environment limits by plan:**

| Plan  | Environment limit |
| ----- | ----------------- |
| Hobby | 15 environments   |
| Pro   | 50 environments   |
| Ultra | Unlimited         |

## Storage

Uploaded assets count toward your plan's storage. Generated outputs are stored with your projects and are not the same as library asset quotas.

| Plan  | Storage |
| ----- | ------- |
| Hobby | 5 GB    |
| Pro   | 10 GB   |
| Ultra | 20 GB   |

**Tips:**

* Delete unused library assets you no longer need
* Prefer well-compressed JPGs for large libraries when full print resolution is not required
* Keep one strong product photo per SKU instead of many near-duplicates

See [Plans and Credits](/plans-and-credits) if you need more capacity.
